If 40 percent of M is X, what is 15 percent of M?

First person who solves it gets MHO, you have to give the details of how did you solve it.

  • 40% of M=X
    40/100 x M=X
    M=X*100/40

    So 15% of M
    15/100*M

    Putting value of M

    15/40 X

    • 2nd one who solve it but without details

    • Always my problem - I work it out in my head but suck at explaining it - To me it is perfectly obvious what I did - Don't worry I broke the heart of several math teachers over the years

    • Ok be prepared to the next question, but it's a bit harder this time.

  • 40% of M = x

    100% = (100/40) x
    100% = 2.5X
    1% = 2.5x/100
    1% = 0.025x
    15% = 0.025x (15)
    15% = 0.375x

    I think my explanation can be understood easier.
