Are you good enough to solve this?

I have a question for you that not many adults can solve...
"Cycle Paths Inc. makes bicycles, tricycles, and unicycles. Last week they made 88 more bicycles than unicycles, and 5 times as many tricycles as unicycles. If they make 40 more bicycles than tricycles, how many unicycles did they make?"

  • B = 88+ U
    T = 5U
    B = 40+T

    88+U = 40 +T
    88+U = 40 + 5U
    5U - U = 88 - 40
    4U = 44
    U = 12

  • Suppose bicycles "B" , tricycle "c" and unicycle "u" .
    88 more bicycle than unicycle.
    5 times as many tricycles as unicycle.
    40 more bicycles than tricycles
    unicycles = ?

    ----------------------------------------
    B = 88 + U -------------- (1)
    T = 5U ---------------------- (2)
    B = 40 + T ----------------- (3)

    From equation (1) and (3) , we get
    88 + U = 40 + T
    48 = T-U ------------- (4)

    From equation (3) and (4) , we get
    48 = 5U-U
    48 = 4U
    48 / 4 = U
    :. U = 12

    I am confused in equation 2 :D. If my answer is wrong then equation (2) will be U=5T ( just reverse ) .
