I have depression and anxiety. Over the last several months I've been seeing a mental health nurse to help me talk through my issues. While talking with her on one occasion, I've told her that I have a boyfriend and we live together and that he makes me happy, but in actual fact, I live alone and don't have a boyfriend. I feel bad about making up this story and want to make it right. How do I go about telling her the truth?
I lied to my therapist about my relationship status. How do I correct it?
What Guys Said 2
Just tell her. Telling that lie is part of you. . . who you are right now. She will try to figure out why a young woman in counseling would feel the need to lie about her relationship status.0

Just say it blatantly. She will understand, she will not judge you and perhaps with her knowing this she can help you better understand why you said what you said.0
