What is your favorite word or phrase from another language?

And feel free to also say what language it's in and what it means!

My favorite is "raison d'têre. Which is French for "reason for existence".

  • I like Sic transit gloria mundi, from Latin: There goes the glory of the world.

Usually, it's used ironically, when everything goes wrong... or when someone is conceited and you want to make fun of them. There are a lot of occasions where this phrase can be used, seriously or.. in jest!!!
