  • -Most people think you should count sheep or think about sleep, but in reality it helps to go completely blank. Don't worry about tomorrow or anything, just go blank.
    -I also tend to do this before I "go blank": I'll say my toes are asleep, my ankles are asleep, my calves are asleep, etc. and just go up until everything is "asleep", its the power of suggestion and it can really help.
    -I take really deep breaths: in and out.
    -I don't eat or drink anything closer to 3 hours before bed.
    -But on occasions if I really can't sleep chamomile tea is definitely an option.
