    • But then that's not actual self-worth because the belief is a pure delusion. You cannot build self-esteem off of delusions; for instance knowing that someone else failed the test you got a D on doesn't actually make you feel that much better and definitely not for a prolonged amount of time. Licking your wounds and making excuses to come out of pity (temporarily) isn't real self-esteem.

      Self-esteem is built through active involvement in personal growth not passive acknowledgement of others failures.
