  • It's difficult to nominate one album for best ever. My top five would be:

Dark Side Of The Moon, by Pink Floyd
Switched On Bach, by Walter Carlos
    Rumours, by Fleetwood Mac
    The Stranger, by Billy Joel
    Pyramid, by Alan Parsons Project

If you ask me again on another day, my top five would probably be different. Missing from this list are the Beatles, Elton John, Styx, Journey, Doobie Brothers, etc. So much good music!

  • Leonard Bernstein's recording of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 with the Vienna Philharmonic, 1979.
Or, if it has to be in the classical "album" format and somewhat more modern... The Wall, by Pink Floyd, also from 1979.
That was a good year for music.
