How do I prevent a door from being opened with a credit card?

How do I prevent one from entering my bedroom and opening the door with a credit card? I have a keyed lock doorknob and stuff but is there any other way I can prevent it from opening with a credit card? Tips please?

  • You can buy a small, cheap, easily installed guard at the hardware store for about $20. If you're in a hurry, take any small screw and screw it into the doorframe in front of the tongue of the door lock. The screw should be screwed in deeply enough that it is short enough to allow you to close the door, but tall enough to prevent a credit card from fitting into the gap between the door and the doorframe.

  • You could always get one of those chained locks some doors have.

  • Why would someone want to do this if you did not give them access? You can get door stoppers.
