Best way to strip small gauge wire without strippers?

So my sustain pedal for my keyboard wimped out on me, I opened it up to discover this

It's a pretty small gauge wire, and I don't have wire strippers.
any tips for splicing this thing in the hopes I don't need a new pedal?

Updates:
Went for the nail clippers.
Stripping it was a lot easier than splicing it, but it works now.

  • You light on fire, then blow it out and immediately pull the melted covering off with a doubled-up paper towel. Easy as pinching a loaf!
