I was riding the train last night, and this older guy about 35 (he looked near 40). Complimented me non-stop, at one point he asked my age.
He was shocked that I said I am 29 years old.
He went on to say I look great for a 29 year old.
I felt that was a back handed compliment.
Are 29 year olds terrible looking or something?
He asked if I had any kids.
I told him that I do, he was shocked again and said I don't look like a Mom.
I mean... what does a Mom look like?
Perhaps, I think too much into peoples words.
I just don't think there is not a set image of what one should look like.

I don't think he meant it as a back handed compliment. It seems like he thought you were younger so that's why he said you look great for your age0

yeh i dont get it. i guess many are trained to think women go downhill after 25 and after kids which isn't necessarily true and many women look the same throughout their 20s. besides, we all age. why is there shame in that?1
