That no matter how you feel, never let others see your hurt. Crying is weakness and people will use it against you.

I have rarely seen my dad truly angry, and I admire the wisdom that he's instilled in me about choosing when to fight for something, argue, and whatnot. I carry that advice with me and remember it often.
