I got my G1 (drivers beginners) licence at age 16, I lost this licence as I never upgraded it to G2. At age 22 I got my M1 and then few weeks later my M2 (motorcycle licence), few months later still at 22 I got my G1 and G2 (driver licence).
So as of 22, I have G2M2 licence which permits me to operate both a car and a motorcycle, with me being able to upgrade my G2 to a G (full driver licence) anytime to odd things with my licence history, and I can update my M2 in next 2 years to my full M, in the end granting me the GM licence, this way I won't have to start over as G2/M2 are only valid for 5 years and then you got to start from G1/G2, while G/M is only renewed but does not require retake of driving courses.
