If you are a relatively new seller, then the funds will be held for a few days, BUT you will receive confirmation in at least 4 distinct ways. Yep, FOUR distinct ways. Pretty unmistakable.
1) You'll receive an e-mail from eBay confirming that the buyer has paid for the item.
2) You'll receive an e-mail from PayPal confirming that you've received a payment, but that the funds are being held for X amount of time (usually 3-4 business days or so).
3) You'll be able to look up the pending payment in yr PayPal transaction history.
4) If you find the sale on yr eBay account, you'll be able to confirm that the buyer has paid you, and that the transaction has been completed.
The transaction should NOT still show "pending" ON EBAY. On eBay it should show as a COMPLETED transaction. Once that's the status, then the money is basically yours -- you just have to wait for it to land in yr account.
Once you are no longer "new" -- I don't remember how long that takes, or what qualifies you to go off of this probationary status -- then the funds will start to appear in yr account immediately once the buyer pays you.0
