  • forget what exactly?

if you are talking forgetting in general, well our brains only have soo much storage space, to put it bluntly. if we were to store every single bit of information we receive even on a daily bases, it would be too much for our brains to handle. 7 seconds is all the brain needs to take in what it needs to of the world around it... if its more important it will store if for longer (or if you make it more important). I'm putting this in very basic terms to explain it but yes... our brain only has so much memory space.

What Guys Said 2

  • Humans never truly forget. Everything you've ever seen or heard is stored in your brain, no matter how much time passes. What we call "forgetting" is when we don't spend time on something, and our brain pushes it further back, in favour of new things. You've probably heard the line: It's like riding a bike. You never really forget anything, it's just been hidden away.
