  • To be honest, I believed everything except C, F, G.

Kinda relieving to know but also maybe a bit worrying in some cases.

  • B is WRONG. Carrots and its vitamin A in certain conditions can improve your eyesight.

  • Letter F is still heavily disputed. The "21" figure is not even close to being widely accepted by scientific bodies. The rest are all accurate, though.

  • I saw this before, but most of these are deliberately ambiguous word twisty misinterpretations or flat out fallacies.

  • I don't think I've believed any of these at any point.

I did used to think that the "olden days" were in black and white though, when I was a child.

  • That girls don't fart. That myth was sadly shattered when my cousin farted right in my face. Girls do indeed fart.

  • The one about the carrots but I now know that was a ploy launched by the British air ministry during WWII to mask the true technology behind the British pilots' ability to track and locate German planes at night. The technology was called the on-board Airborne Interception Radar and as the name states, it was a small radar installed on to RAF aircrafts which they could use during flight. These radars were still novelty technology and were about accurate to only 5 feet so not very far. But compared to the Germans who relied only on their eyesight during their night flights, which is poor obviously due to night conditions plus the added challenge of Britain blacking out or turning off all the lights, the British were better armed and had that advantage. To mask this technology, it was published that the RAF pilots had a diet heavy on carrots which gave them improved vision that allowed them to spot and identify enemy aircraft at night.
