  • First light the other rope and when its half way through light the other rope from the other end, and when they meet it has been 45 minutes.

    • They don't burn at a uniform rate though

  • alright, here's the answer. Light both ends of rope A and one end of rope B. After 30 minutes, rope A will be completely burned up and there will be 30 minutes of rope B left. Light the other end of rope B; it will burn up in 15 minutes. Total time elapsed since starting the ropes on fire: 45 minutes.

  • Light both ends of the first rope and one end of rope second. After 30 minutes, the first rope will be completely burned and there will be 30 minutes of the second rope left. Light the other end of the second rope, and it will burn up in 15 minutes. Total time since starting the ropes on fire would be 45 minutes.

  • Light both ends of one rope and light one end of the second rope..
Once they're about the same length, there's your 45 mins. Maybe.

    • That would take an hour

    • You're doing it after you tie them both. So it would be both sides of what you get after that, which is basically just one side of each rope.

    • it would tie wrapping eachother forming one rope then you light both sides, lol let's just agree i didn't get it :(

  • i would buy another rope

  • Simple fold one rope in half twice and then use that to measure the burning rope.

  • It's 3/4 of the rope

  • Count to 45 minutes the old fashioned way

  • If both don't evenly burn there is no way of measuring 45 minutes. But it would be either way 3/5 of the rope since it takes about one hour for both.
