If someone wronged you, would them begging for forgiveness actually change your mind?

Okay so the title of the question might be confusing so let me just explain

Lets say someone cheated on you or something bad like that, and they confessed to it.
They could either do it two ways:

"I'm very sorry I did that. You deserve a lot better than me. I hope you find someone who treats you right."

Or

"I'm so so sorry, please forgive me. I will never do it again, i regret it I swear. Please give me another chance"

Does that actually make a difference? Does one make you want to forgive them over the other?
