We say "Mother Nature" which I assume means that nature is our mother. But never heard anyone say "Father (fill in the blank)". So who is our father?

It all depends on what culture you look at really. In my country we have a traditional Maori myth about mother earth (Papatuanuku) and the sky father (Ranginui). They embraced eachother in love and never parted, they had several sons (aka demigods). Eventually the sons got tired of living in the darkness between mother earth and father sky and forced them apart letting light into the world.0
