Your city has been attacked by another country, what branch of the military would you join?

Whenever your home is attacked I think it is natural for young men to want to jump into action. For most, this means volunteering for service. Would you do the same?

  • Not volunteering. I'll try to get out of the country, and once people stop killing each other, fighting over ridcules things, I'll come back.

  • If my "city" got attacked, I wouldn't do anything and just laugh at those morons for thinking they'd take down the American infrastructure and establishment by dismantling and destroying Podun, New Jersey. That's like thinking it's a big deal if you get pinky nail cancer

Damn it, you wrote city, I live overseas. In that case I would join the special forces of that coluntry, or maybe the intelligence, but only if the attacking country isn't the one I was born in.

What Guys Said 22

  • It would probably have to be the army, I don't have any other specific skills that would aid the other services in the short term.

  • If you wait until your home has been attacked, it is too late.
There is no such thing as an instant army.
It takes a year to train a soldier properly.
Anything less sends under-skilled kids off to be slaughtered.

  • I'm not volunteering because I happen to have been born with male genitals. That is silly. Besides, I'd just die, I would not have a chance in the military.

My home is where i live, with my family. Not the difference between two governing nations. I guarantee you when there is war, it won't be the children of the people who declare it fighting.

  • I would form a militia with people I trust.

My grandfather was in the Coast Guard, that's what he did most of his time in the Pacific. They would be scared shitless when the Japanese showed up, so it made being bored seem not so bad.
