  • By adding 5 on both side is used to isolate the x by itself the negative 5 adding a positive 5 will cancel out so only the x remains on the left. 10 adding 5 to it makes 15.

Since now x would become 15, you can test it to verify that it makes sense.

    15 minus 5 equals to 10, so x is 15.

  • Because Equality. Math isn't racist, so letters and numbers get treated the same.

  • Add 5 to both sides of the equality?

    This is a joke right?

Lol sorry I'm actually doing my masters in applied math so I love these questions. The other day someone asked about the volume of blood in their penis

I guess no one mentioned the addition property of equality...

  • Instead of adding 5 on both sides you can do the following...

move the 5 TO ONE SIDE ONLY so it can be postive soo...

X = 10+5 (the 5 was negative but because we moved it to the other side its positive now)

    so.. X = 10+5
    Therefore X =15

  • 5+10=x in the ens you will have 10 left then you need to take away 5 in the process so you can do reverse and just add 5 to 10
