How do you run birds over?

I was just thinking about this
How are birds ran over

I imagine they see the car coming and try to fly but get smacked by the headlights

That's the only way I see it happening but besides that... How does something with wings..
Working wings get ran over

  • They probably aren't as afraid of people or cars as they should be. A few years back, I heard on the news a man had purposely ran over seagulls in the parking lot. I've been around them before to where they let me get close enough to feed them.

But my question is I always tend to wonder why animals of any kind wait until the last minute to cross the street.

  • thats like asking why some thing with legs gets hit by a car. its down the reaction times and awareness more than anything

  • Preferably not but I'm not gonna slam on the brakes.

I will gladly run over snakes tho. I've run over two now

  • Pidgeons are dumb enough to stand there as you run them over.

  • The way you described it is exactly right. Sometimes birds fly too low.
