It's been proven that there weren't, yet both told their people that there were
Why did Bush and Blair believe there were WMD's in Iraq?
What Girls Said 3
Well that's simple, they never truly believed that in the 1st place. That was their excuse to 'take action' in the area.1
Everyone but bush believed it but he caved0
What Guys Said 18
Saddam Hussein's own generals believed they had WMD. This is the information they acted on at the start of the war. The so-called "proof" could only be known after the war was well underway. In truth, WMD were discovered. The NY Times reported:
" From 2004 to 2011, American and American-trained Iraqi troops repeatedly encountered, and on at least six occasions were wounded by, chemical weapons remaining from years earlier in Saddam Hussein’s rule.
In all, American troops secretly reported finding roughly 5,000 chemical warheads, shells or aviation bombs, according to interviews with dozens of participants, Iraqi and American officials, and heavily redacted intelligence documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act.
Because he had a nuclear program, he had used chemical weapons in the past and he was refusing to allow any one access (In violation of his agreement with both his agreement with the US after his attempt at genocide in the 80s and his agreement with the UN the only things that allowed him to stay in power) to certain locations in those facilities which could be easily used to make nuclear weapons and chemical weapons. Its only in hind sight that we can say their where none their but his behavior and his set up made it seem like a certainty.0
wow another god dam retard... who told u they werent there? were u there? cause they fucking where there. and it would be great if u stop telling lies ass hole. ok! that would be great!0
Because the CIA told it (Some guy from the opposition left the country and had a lot of stories) and they wanted to believe it:
Because they wanted to believe it and senior figures in their staff and intelligence services did as well. Saddam also did his best to give them the impression there might be a nuclear program and a sizeable chemical weapon stockpile, this was to deter Iran from invading Iraq, he admitted that when he was interrogated by the FBI.0
Because otherwise they wouldn't have gotten support to invade them if people knew they were actually after their oil because Sadam and a few others decided to take their oil off the dollar and spread the wealth but the US government didn't want that because it would drop the worth of the US dollar again0
There actually were chemical weapons found there. And it's beyond question that they were there before the war because Saddam Hussein used them. It was unknown how many he had and where they were, which is why EVERYONE believed they were there.0
They knew there weren't. They wanted regime change.0
Technically there was WMDs in Iraq, but they were made before 1991. "[a] total of 53 munitions have been recovered, all of which appear to have been part of pre-1991 Gulf war stocks based on their physical condition and residual components." http://www.factcheck.org/2008/02/no-wmds-in-iraq/0
They knew there wasn't. They went to war for other reasons and needed an excuse.0
Remember that time? People were fairly paranoid.
Not to mention, poor intel at the time indicated that they likely had them.
Confusion in the post 9/11 US is why.0
It was an excuse to go to war in the middle east to go after certain natural resources.0
They didn't believe. It was simply a reason giving to gain public support for an invasion.0
They needed to find a propose to invade Iraq and kill people there0
He was bluffing to keep Iraq under control. He said it worked too well.
I saw him say this on a documentary "interacting Saddam Hussein"0
It was a cold and calculated lie. All of those things you see on the media is merely just a smoke screen and a cover story they issued, because they had to.
The real main reason behind it is because of the Petrodollar system.
Watch the video and you will understand.
As long as the world needs oil, and as long as oil is "only" sold in U. S. dollars, there will be a demand for dollars, and that demand is what gives the dollar its value. However, if any nation changed their oil transactions to something else, and in the case of Iraq, Saddam did changed his oil transactions to Euros back in September of 2000, it would disrupt the value of the US dollar, and because the US dollar is not backed by gold anymore, they cannot allow him to continue to sell his oil for Euros or any other kind of transactions:
After the invasion occurred, they eventually switched the oil transactions back to dollars instead of euros. But then the same shit happened with Iran, they eventually stopped accepting US dollars for their oil, and the same goes for Libya. That's why US had to invade them or they would have disrupt the entire global financial system in which the US dollar is the World Reserve Currency.1

It really hasn't been PROVEN because over 150,000 troops with weapons and vehicles fled to Iran instead of staying and fighting. There is no way to know what they had with them, but we do know that in the past Saddam had them because he gassed Kuwait.0
