Search Results: emotionally and intellectually stimulated

So, this guy I've been talking to for the last few months is very intelligent--graduated from Harvard, working at a big corporation, emotionally intelligent, etc etc. I'm usually bored within a week, but we've been having intellectually stimulating (and intimate) conversations almost every day for a few months now. We've also slept together a couple of times. Things were great until his friend entered the picture. He would talk about his best friend a lot and one day, he mentioned something specific his friend had said regarding me (an insult of sorts). I retorted with something that he then texted his friend. And well-- his friend had a witty response back for me.

In that manner, he decided to convey a few messages. Honestly, I didn't think much of it. In any case, when that guy and I were later talking, he casually slipped how he thinks I secretly desire his friend. When I vehemently denied that and said I liked him-- his friend was just fun to verbally spar with--but not someone I could ever see myself with... he said, "yeah, I'm sure it turns you on". And then he became overly zealous about how he is totally fine with that and how his friend and I should just start dating, etc.

Is this a sign of jealousy (he's always told me he's not the jealous type--something like "men don't get jealous") or does he simply not care? Forgive me if this is a stupid question-- I'm not great at understanding a man's emotions.
