Yeah I would realize he wasn't stable to begin with. I wouldn't blame myself because everyone has a right to not want to be with someone, and he's likely doing it because he has other issues in his life. I would reassure him that I was there for him, but I would also notify other people like teachers or his parents, even the authorities if I thought it was life threatening.0
That would tell me that this person wasn't mentally stable and needs help. I would alert his friends.3
