My sister broke my laptop and it never even crossed my mind to hit her
@RedHairedGirl Well it doesn't fix anything, that's for sure. I'd probably end up yelling like my father did -_-Seriously though, breaking something that costs more than half of my monthly wage is pretty damn bad.
Wow you're essentially justifying his reaction. I'm going to dump his ass and hope to never meet a man like him or you again.
Well while I probably wouldn't hit anyone even on a reaction like that (violence just isn't in my hands), you DID break a $1000 worth laptop.Like, how the heck do you even do that. I've never in my life broken anything that expensive, especially not one that belongs to someone else.
He probably will hope to never find a girlfriend who breaks his laptops either, lol.
but if they ever get married in the future how do you think he will react when she accidentally burns the turkey at a Thanksgiving dinner? or loses an important legal document or the car key? or has trouble losing weight after pregnancy?
@sparkly-crystal hmm... I seriously don't think a turkey is in the same price range as a laptop, but you should definitely always have a spare car key somewhere!
If you do leave him then you have to pay back.
And talking about the monetary, acertained, affixed, fair-market value really is nothing compared to what those files might have meant to him. Pictures, items saved, memories, problems-yet-to-be-solved, friendships, the list goes on. Not a justification for hitting someone, but would it be fair to ask the original poster to give up all those things?
@Psi_Unknown exactly. Valuable and irreplaceable data.
shit happens... when I was a kid I broke an expensive souvenir from Paris, my brother smashed and broke a flat screen TV when my mom was in the kitchen, my mom split coffee on my dad's laptop once.At the end of the day, those electronic gadgets are replaceable. But not all broken relationships can be fixed.
@sparkly-crystal Um, no. Not all electronic "gadgets" can be replaced, and as the opinion owner noted, "exactly. Valuable and irreplaceable data" to which I most assuredly agree. I get sick and tired of people saying things that are not true. Some things once lost may actually be irreplaceable and gone forever. While I do understand relationships may remain broken forever, I think you missed the point.
Laptops are hella expensive though. But it's true that slapping her won't bring it back to life. She'd have to still pay for the repairs... and hopefully he didn't lose any data.
fu. kin stupid Sookie LoL
Minor? Laptops are expensive. Very expensive.
This is an interesting point. Now, I am beginning to think this story was one-sided--damaging a laptop and attacking someone else would be more than twice as bad. Some might even call it self-defense if objects are being thrown.
A laptop is expensive enough that I couldn't call it "benign" to break it.
@Mesonfielde Accidental, that's what she said. A hard drive can always be fixed into a new system.
The old hard drive can not always be put into a new system because sometimes the connectors do not fit.
@Psi_Unknown get the same model or get an adapter and build a computer, hardware is not difficult to fix.
Sometimes the same model/software/hardware does not exist. Even if it did who has that kind of money, and then time to put everything back together particularly arranging software the correct way. Harddrives, floppies, and CD-ROMs are difficult to fix once they became scratched, damaged, or corrupted. Hardware is difficult to fix.
@Psi_Unknown For the average wife-beater it is quite easy to get their computer repaired.
Well, I wouldn't know and don't know the whole story so...But I do agree that slapping someone is not the right reaction. As for leaving, well, that is kind of her decision, some would recommend help and forgiveness; others outright leaving; still others would probably ask for the whole story or at least more information about the incident from both sides; maybe he should leave her, I don't know.
50 bucks says if it was him, oh, it's nothing, I'll just have it fixed.
Nobody deserves to be hit for an accident lol
@boredgirllll ıts your opinion
Um yah lol
