Absolutely. Even after short periods of dating, it still sucks to be rejected. You lose all potential future good times with the person and also have to ask questions about yourself as to why things went wrong. Keep in mind, sometimes it's not even anything that you did to cause the end of the relationship but you are still going to have anger/sadness that the potential you had together is no longer a possibility.
As humans we also like to feel valued and appreciated. When someone says they no longer need you in their life, that is a huge hit to one's ego and self worth.
I'm sorry that you had your heart broken by this person, but be fortunate it was now rather than 5 or 10 years down the road.0
