  • I was in a bad relationship and there was no contact at all after. It helped me so much in getting over her and pretty quickly too.

  • No. The best way to move on from a relationship is simply MOVE ON! That includes not speaking to them ever again. It depends on the context of your last relationship with them. Did you exchange gifts? Throw them all out. Even clothes and electronics. Did he or you give mementos to each other? Like an old sweatshirt? Return those items to the owner, and likewise get back yours. If you don't want them anymore, let them throw it out with verbal and even written consent. Just in case one or the other tries to sue you out of spite. However, the key thing at the end of all of this is to learn to act civil. But don't disrespect each other. You get rid of everything that has to do with them and the relationship, pictures, video and even erase and block their number. That is how you move on.

  • Do not answer calls or e-mails... Don't talk about your ex. If you got gifts from them. Sell at garage sale or donate to charity. Don't stay at home to feel sorry for yourself. Go out. If you know lot of places where your ex goes... Avoid those places. Fly away!

  • Probably, yes, unless there's children involved. That adds to the complexity. In general, though, yes.

  • choice is yours. if you feel you need to see the down fallbf the other person, you can have an hawks eye. or if you need to ensure you peace of mind , be apathetic

  • Cut off all contact with them : block numbers or messages from them , unfollow and block on social media , no more calling or texting them
Then get rid of any reminders , so any of their clothes or items you have kept , remove any pictures of them off of your phone , get rid of certain things you have and don't listen to anything that really makes you think of them
Find new hobbies , and things to keep you busy. Sports , painting , drawing , sewing , crocheting , gardening , anything that'll keep you busy and your mind off of them and make sure you have at least one or 2 close friends or family members to keep you company , breakups suck especially when dealing with them alone

    • your answer seems genuinely stupid. don't you think the opposite or the "bad relationship" would'nt taunt

    • @prankiy of course u can't forget those good moments but if the breakup is fresh and the relationship was bad , you generally dont want reminders of that person all around you and in your face when its time to heal from it. newly broken up couples who dont plan on getting back together shouldn't be talking right after the breakup, it usually leads to more hurt feelings and more of a struggle getting over it

    • you better think practically. did I ever say to talk or continue contacting after break up?
