How do you work through heartbreak?

I almost decided to become a Buddhist monk when a girl managed to open me up again for love and attachments. When we became a couple I grew too attached too fastly and she couldn't handle the pressure and broke up with me. Now I am trying to work through this in a way that doesn't leave huge scars and wounds that would endanger my next relationship. How can I solve this?

    • This is actually good advice, but mostly for the time after the psychological work. This letting emotions be there, watching them etc., is what I was asking about 😋
