not a good idea, and here's why! - the person you're dating deserves your full commitment. if you still have feelings for a past bf/gf then you'll never be fully present in your new relationship. the relationship wouldn't work
not the best idea in my eyes, because you're going to compare the new person to your ex, which is almost impossible because that new person is not the ex.
Well no, you clearly need some time to get over said ex.
And jumping into a new relationship would be a horrible way to do that.
What if this new person you're dating falls for you, and you don't feel the same way? Or at least, you don't feel as strongly, for them, as they do for you. You'd be responsible for hurting someone.
That's not something I could do. But that's just me.
