So I've been really sick the last couple days, and now I'm pretty much better. I'll I'm left with is a slight tickle in my throat, and my voice is fine. EXCEPT when I was signing I noticed when my voice goes higher than a certain pitch it just completely cuts off. I find it interesting that my voice is perfectly fine, I've just lost my high pitch - completely.
What is the specific cause of half-losing your voice like that?

Higher pitches are tougher on your larynx and vocal folds, so while your throat may be well enough to speak normally you might still have some swelling in your larynx. Don't push it, it's better to rest your voice for a bit1THIS IS NOT RELEVANT ANYMORE
