Is it true that if your ex blocks you on social media, they aren’t over you?

Websites like MTL blog have articles that claim that your ex isn’t over you if they delete all of the photos of the two of you together on social media and block you, because “the opposite of love isn’t hate, it’s indifference”.

But, to me, none of these actions imply hate. These actions seem more like the ex wants nothing to do with you anymore. How does cutting an ex out of your life mean that you aren’t over them? I don’t get it. This makes even less sense if they haven’t spoken to you for several months and pretty much forgot that they had blocked you at all.

Being indifferent towards them isn’t tantamount to wanting to be friends with them. Especially since wanting to be friends is usually what’s interpreted as “not over them”.
