Is there really a double standard against men being very selective of the women they choose to be with in a relationship?

Apparently, being very selective of who you want to be with is only a "woman's thing" but if a man does it, he'll get ignored even more for it. Just because I'm a man, doesn't mean sex is the only thing I look for in a relationship.

Why are women allowed to have such unrealistically high standards of the men they choose to be with in a relationship while men get weird looks for it?

  • I don't think someone stops us from being selective but if it's true then it's surely a double standard. Why? Double standards don't have a meaning or reasons.
Some are in favour of men and some are in men. But none of them is in favour of humanity.
