We are not at that point. So, in the meanwhile, what should I call her?
I don't know, your partner, significant other, lover? Or just your girlfriend if it feels right. I'm not implying that those terms shouldn't be used. They just don't sound quite right for me personally.

And girlfriend implies that you are in a relationship with a girl. Now, different people will think of different things when they hear that word, but for me it associates with preadult females. If you want to you can find something wrong with all of those words.
Exactly. Nothing sounds right. But girlfriend at least signifies that there is a romantic relationship without calling attention to the sexual nature of the relationship.
