Should I be offended that people refer to me as a “kid” even though I’m 22 years old?

So my ex is in his 30’s and his friend asked him how old I was and he said 22. His friend said “oh, she’s a kid.”

Do I have a right to be offended by that. Does this typically mean that they’re looking down upon me as if I were a child?

    • It makes me feel as if they are implying that I’m immature and childish...

  • No, because 22 is not that old. And the dude who said it it is a decade or so older than you.
I feel like it's kinda childish to be offended over this.

  • No, just a saying that's used. I still get it sometimes at 40 with older people lol. Just let it roll off your back. What good is being offended going to do anyway? Just get you upset for nothing because you can't control it.

  • Haha. Nope you don't get offended. I don't think he's looking down on you. More like a term of endearment.
