Would you be flexible with a deal breaker for the right guy?

I’ve always said that drugs/smoking is one of my deal breakers. I’ve been talking to this guy for awhile and I like him but I just found out he smokes. Are you ever flexible about your dealbreakers? Or is that equivalent to lowering your standards?

  • If it's something that is temporary then you should be flexible. Smoking is a great example, he could easily quit smoking and you could even try to help him. Now other things like he's cheated on past girlfriends or he's abusive these are not really fixable problems and should not be overlooked.

  • That depends
Do you love and care for him that much to let this one think by?
There's a possibility that you could also help him quit smoking
    But don't force him to

  • I think some of my deal breakers would be negotiable. For example - I say I don't like guys who smell - but if he was a harvard lawyer and very religious and attractive and only smelled in the morning or at night then I might forgive him for it.
