  • They probably mean that they can rely on you and you give them comfort and all that shit, but if you look at it in a slightly more cynical manner, they're basically telling you that you're like a back-up. Context and semantics are important. 'Safety net' isn't a brilliant pet name to shoot for. So how pessimistic are you feeling?
