Do women like rugged masculine guys?

So I am new to the single scene for the first time in a while (3 years). I don't seem to catch a woman's attention other than to make brief vague conversation. I consider myself rugged I have a beard, like the out doors, am fashionably aware but not fixated on maintaining the "Tilly's Pretty Boy" look, I have a broad shouldered stocky build and am not the ideal 6 foot +. Is my natural appearance and taste going to keep me from finding an ideal girl? Do I need to be less masculine and rugged to find more women open to getting to know me.
