Why is there so much hate for single moms and dads?

Don't think it is hate. Pretend you get to choose: Would you prefer your partner knew how to cook or not? You probably don't care that much. They can learn. You can do the cooking. Its not insurmountable. However if given the option to check "Good at Cooking: Yes/No" realistically we all check yes. Not because it matters but because we'd rather have a minor positive than not.

Your partner having children from before might not be much of a problem to you at all. It is something you will figure out and deal with. However most people who do not yet have children, if given the chance to check if they would like their prospective partner to already have them will probably check the No. It isn't hate. It is a mild negative that is easy to filter with. Of course to some it woule be a major negative. Travel, partying, life itself changes a lot with kids.

No one hates single parents. However, they are far, far less desirable than people without kids for a reason. And many of them have made awful life choices, which they then want others to ignore them for doing. (The exception being for widows.) It's like saying "Why is there so much hate for ex convicts?"

I don't want to date one because I'm not a kid person. I'm unsure if I want any children, so I don't want to be in a relationship where there already are kids.
Also, with the kids, it makes everything all the more serious and it's not just about two people, but about... the one your dating and their child. And that's too much for me.

I think it is because most people don't want to take care of a child that is not their own. There is also a lot of responsibilities and stress right from the start of the relationship. Most people would just rather find a person who is single. it is more simple and less problematic.

Men don't hate single moms. However, they are aware that single moms have a lot of baggage which makes them less desirable than single girls with equal looks. Nevertheless, a pretty single mom will attract guys that big and homely single girls cannot.

It is not hate but when you date a single parent you also have to date their kids. Personally I would prefer not to do this.

Very few single mothers were widowed or abused/cheated on. Most walked out on a good man because he did not give them the tingles anymore.

There's also the inherent cuckoldry of raising a random guy's kids, unless it happens to be a brother, close friend, etc.

Society doesn't like failures. And if you had a relationship deep enough to result in offspring and you couldn't make the relationship work it's because you're a failure. Nobody wants you to taint them wirh your bad energy.

I don't hate, I just wouldn't date. In my country dating a single mother comes with too much risk and too little reward. Best to let them stick to taking care of their child or else make up with the father of their kid (s).
