I think that it depends on the job you want and how qualified you are compared to other applicants. Me? I'm a CPA, I was perfectly qualified for the job I wanted, but there were still like 10 people similar to me applying for a single position. Yea. I for sure applied to 8 different firms, ended up getting job offers from 2, took the one I liked more.
by the way is CPA prestigious? I mean, I know a LOT of CPAs I figured not all of them can be straight A students. Some of them were quite average at school come to think of it
I think the GPA requirements were a little higher for an accounting degree than others, but grades aren't everything. Passing the CPA exam is no joke, it takes a lot of work. I would say fairly prestigious, but honestly who cares about prestige?
Are you sure? I know people who are quite frankly not that smart with a cpaIt also makes me wonder if attaining a cpa got to their head if it’s seen as prestigious
So, you can stop shitting on my profession anytime you want now. Gave you an earnest answer to your question on getting a job.
I don't think you understood what I said and you're insulting yourself. There are some things in life which are truly difficult to attain, like maybe a PhD. Only smart people can aspire to that level. That being said it doesn't mean someone who DIDN"T attain a PhD isn't smart, it just means there are people of average intelligence also who can attain the same thing. For example, someonw ho is intelligent can attain a CPA but it doesn't mean every person who attains a CPA is intelligent.
You can't just apply to one or two jobs and expect to be hired. It took me easily over 6 months to find the job I have now. I didn't just apply to one or two in those 6 months.
Have an opinion?
Well... Obviously? Statistically if you apply for more jobs your odds of being accepted increase?
Hmm I don't know if that's true You can apply for 100 jobs and not apply to a single one PROPERLY. You can apply for maybe 10-15 but apply properly and maybe somethingg clicks
Then how about applying to those 100 jobs PROPERLY?
The more you apply to the more accept you. The more accept you the more you have to choose from. The more you have to choose from the better the job you will get. This is why nobody is forced to work at mcdonalds. Only kids and lazy bums.
Apply for as many as you can, but tailor your resume and cover letter for that job.
The more the merrier. Don't limit your opportunities.
Yeah apply to as many as you can! Can't be putting all your eggs in one basket
When I was job hunting I submitted hundreds at the time..
And did you eventually find one in a short period of time or a long period of time/
Usually within a few days..
Multiple jobs is better
