This is sad to me. Your father buit something, something that provided for his family it's sad you do not continue it. I know you say you dont have the passion for it, but maybe one of your sons might. I dont know if you have any brothers but it's sad to think his grain farm will die with him and be farmed by some other family who will benefit from what he has done before. It hits home for me because something similar is happening with me.
Maybe if I have sons in the future, yes but that’s a long ways away. I lost my brother in a farming accident 23 years ago and my sister is disabled. I know I’ll inherit the land when that time comes but I’m not going to be an asshole and sell it all once I have it. Yes it’s worth a lot of money but once it’s gone, I’m never getting it back.
Keep what your family has, add to it and pass it on.
