Why do companies hate harmless jokes?

Anonymous
So where I work we have a booking sheet that allows you to add notes to a booking and one day somebody booked us right at the last second of the day and so I put a note saying "who books right at the feking end of the day, I hate you" now bare in mind the customer will never see this but head office can.

Now the boss is having to do an investigation to this matter and I'm sat here like it was a joke? It's not like they will ever know about it.

Am I in the wrong? Because i still find it funny and the big dogs in head office don't.

Does that break GDPR? Like no personal information or data was tampered with but the boss is like saying it might
