ok thanks, i will get to work
Anyway, in the meantime it is 9:18, so you are safe!
you are wasting precious time here. Get your bit out and start drilling. Take at last a 6mm drill bit for concrete if you want the curtains to hold. Don't forget to take a drill bit that is slightly larger in diameter than the anchor studs and set the drill to the "hammer" setting.
ok thanks, actually have to use 7mm drill bit cos the rawl plug is a little bigger lol
also what is hammer setting? im new to diy, i know nothing.. jus bought some cheap 30 quid drill from ebay... not sure if it even has hammer setting... can't i jus drill it in normally?
Hammer setting is where the drill, in addition to rotating the bit also give hammer like shocks to be used in concrete
i mean it seems to be drilling in fine, i bought a 48volt drill jus incase.. i thought i might need a powerful 1
oh, i will see if it has that setting
If it has that setting, it will surely wake up everyone still asleep if you use it :-)
nice :) lol
i seem to have ran into a problem lol,i marked the spots i need to drill directly ontop of each other... but after the drilling is over... the fucking holes are no longer in line with each other which would make the bracket wonky and not level... why has this happened? how do i fix it? lol, fuck
maybe its cos the damn drill bit is like 2metres long and is abit too big for the drill?
The problem is that you probably did not use a pointy device such as a nail or special awl that you hammered slightly with a hammer as to make a small hole and that would enable the pointy tip of the drill bit to get stabilized and not move around when you first attempt to make the hole. The only thing is to plug the holes with quick cement, wait for the cement to get hard and then start all over again.
I guess it takes a girl to do the job :-)
yeah lol i fucking stupid, i admit girls can probably do diy better.. jus need a little common sense lol
i got them up anyway (look in profile pic) :)luckily both the curtain rail and curtain are light as a feather, otherwise i dont think they would be holding right now lol,i gotta re do the job again sometime, i totally fucked up... the drilling is a fkn mess lol, some of the plugs aren't even in the wall all the way.. some aren't level with each other... and some the screw isn't even in all the way cos i accidently broke the grooves in the raw plug lmao,im jus happy they are holding for now tho... went over a month with no curtain or blinds... its so good to have some darkness atlast lol :)
They look okay to me. Thank goodness the picture is not that crisp :-). No master ever fell from the sky...
yeah lol :)
actually i think i will jus wait til 10... if anyone complains them then fuck them lol
Let them come along. Offer a coffee and make a new friend.
yeah the 2×4's behind the sheetrock that hold the wall up.
https://www.designingbuildings.co.uk/wiki/Studprobably too much info lol but good to know.
but its 9am so i dont think thats too early. only on weekends maybe?
have no idea what a 2x4 or sheetrock is... but i did suddenly puncture some hole in something that was tuff to get through that caused the drill tip to suddenly go right in... hopefully the whole building won't collapse if i do that again lol
