I don't really like the staff except him & his second. The rest, as I told my brother, you could toss in the trash and miss nothing. But it is in my specialty & easy work to keep my skills up.

So should I consider the on-call/casual & send him an email asking if he was been honest/legit - not in those words, more diplomatic - about the offer or say screw it.

I would try to contact him to see what the details are. But also looking for something else. If you find something better welp then is his loss for not giving you a proper contract.
