Casual employee take time off?

in the last few months I've found a job. its working out. im a casual. I've been on a surgery list for months and I've just been told there's a space for me. it will mean taking a month and a half off work. do u guys reckon ill just be replaced? am i going to loose my job?

You are probably best to consult your employer, explaining your situation sooner rather than later. Giving them ample notice will make it easier for them to formulate a solution, and don't forget to explain that it was a consideration of yours (giving them plenty of notice); being straight with them could/should score points.
