Then why do the workplace demands degree? I don't know why. I'm sure that college is useless but these workplaces demands at least bachelors degree.
@Elsa143 That is a good question! As I said, most jobs go by the theory that a degree equates to knowledge, or you're competent. That's not always true, but from a job's perspective, they want the best candidates. So that bachelor's degree lets them know you worked hard to get where you are in life. Whereas once you get said job, you barely use that degree. Heck, most jobs have their own sets of rules, policies, or skills and you'll be like, "I didn't learn that in school!" But guess what? That degree got you into the door
If I was in a hiring position, I'd take self-taught programmer who has been practicing for a decade and has some successful projects under his/her belt than one who just graduated fresh with a CS degree.
Same. Having a CS degree didn’t help one bit 🤷🏻♀️
