Why are older and more seasoned employees always rude to the younger newly hired employees?

Doubt this is "always" true.
Maybe they've seen a revolving door of non-committed younger people, who don't stick with the company, so the older ones don't want to invest time in them until they prove themselves somewhat.
Maybe they question the younger ones' work ethics, such as being flaky, or spending too much work time on personal stuff on their phones.
When I go to retail stores, I often get better service from the older staff. The young ones are more often as I described. I don't see as much effort from them.
Right now, I’m just dealing with older coworkers being rude to me period... and it’s making me feel inadequate and unwanted. I cried at work today and I tried so hard not to...
Oh no no no no no. Don't cry because of them. Speak to upper management and see what can be done and if a possible transfer or change of work unit is a possibility. Maybe even a schedule change. Don't quit.
or why are kids that can't do the job yet so hypersensitive when oldies try to guide them? swings and roundabouts
Because the newly hired are going to be taking their place sooner or later
