Tips for working on an assembly line?

I know it's not the best job and it's gonna be rough but I want to be prepared. I already have steel toed boots but should I wear a back brace or knee brace things?

It really depends on what kind of assembly operation it is. I'd say don't worry about anything like that until you work a few shifts first. Braces often hinder your movement and/or chafe on you; and the typical assembly operation is set up pretty ergonomically to prevent the need for a lot of wasted operator time moving things around.

Nowadays, so many simply tasks can be automated, that the operations they have workers doing are those that require a human being paying attention. And every operator's eyes are part of the quality assurance process.

Learn how the operation works, and what the typical problems are, and you'll be surprised how quickly opportunities to move into a position in quality arise.

Well this company site doesn't have the best reputation but I'm kind of just here to get my foot in the door. My main worry is that I'll be standing for long periods of time. The shift is 8 hours with two 10 minute breaks and one 30 minute lunch break. The rest of the time I will be standing and I feel like that's gonna hurt my knees. Being on my feet all day usually hurts my feet but I won't really be moving my feet, just standing.

That generally isn't bad on the knees. It'll serve you better to make sure the boots have good support, and break them in some first.

All the braces you can get are a good idea. Also some pot as assembly lines are violently tedious. The first few days will probably be fine, but after that you might need some help zoning out the rage.

I don't know. I did it for about a week before I had a breakdown, started flinging shit around, and left. Thats when I enrolled in college.
