Should old traditions, like Prom King and Queen be kept or abolished?

A lesbian couple has inspired thousands with their election as Prom King and Queen by their peers at an Ohio high school.

Annie Wise and Riley Loudermilk, both 18, have known each other since third grade and been dating for six months.

Their fellow students at Kings High School in Kings Mill, Ohio, voted the couple prom king and queen on April 17.
That just screws some boy out of that honor. What would girls say if 2 boys were Prom King and Queen? Do boys get voted onto the cheerleader team so they can wear their short cheerleader outfits? Yet I have seen girls get on the football team which is a boy's sport. Girls have their own sports and you don't see guys on a girl's basketball team. Why the disparity on what girls can do and what guys can do. Isn't a guy on a girl's sports team the same thing as a transgender MTF girl being on a girl's sports team?
