that is pretty much my feeling about this as well.
I have 20 weeks to go. If I took the job it would last about the same. Then after New Year I will start all over again.
Take the money and run. Start a small side business and invest your money. A couple of hours ago I was at my brother's place having dinner with the family. My nephew, who knows everything there is to know about YouTube, showed me really stupid videos. I'm talking about REALLY stupid shit. One guy was trying out different weapons to smash pumpkins. I asked my nephew, who watches this shit?He said the guy has a zillion followers and also streams stupid shit on Twitch. He's also a millionaire!! LOL
Oh this is real. Ok well, mentally it would be better to take the job if it was something that wasn't soul sucking.If you tend to be a homebody, not having a reason to go out and work may have negative consequences.The thing is, the extra $100 isn't really more since it csts money to get to work. Also, one tends to spend mo ey just by virtue of eing out. I'd take the dole and have a sode hustle.
I guess after Sept 4th it drops down to 600/ week.
So I need to go to work somewhere for 6 months or so, then get let go due to Covid or Christmas being over or whatever. Then I can collect more than I get from my Social Security?
yes. I collect a pension from the state (well, half a pension) and I was teaching at a college and I was able to collect. A few teachers there were retired from a K-12 system and they collected so I figured I would do it too, I did not expect it to go on for 18 months.
As I was growing up, I was always told by each 'man', that a real man, "needs to work- as in... they feel weird if they're not working" needs to use his hands.
@SandandWaves we just need to be doing something so we can say we worked for what we have. I'm the type of guy who can not sit behind a desk pushing a pencil. I like to see results of my labor at the end of the day.
@TrueConfection Then what then?
Same as @karaspara. Plus it's a change of scenery.
thanks for that.
Also it's easier to find a better job when your employed and showing a work ethic
it is not.
What if it was something you would like to make a career out of?
Sure, fuck it's won't be bad if it's one hundred extra every week.
