I mean it has been absolutely slow lately. But that's the only thing I hate. When I'm not able to get something done. When I have to "look busy" during slow weeks.
I used to have a fast paced job at a small engineering firm. My boss (the CEO) would basically come up to me and be like "This is what we want the control board to do. Here is the IO the customer wants. Figure it out however you want." It was my literal hobby. I would get bored some weekends because I finished some of my own electronics projects, and would come in on a Saturday or Sunday and do some coding or design. The empty office, lax pace, and getting to hang out downtown made for a nice weekend.
And the pay is great on top of that. I get to do my hobby, do it from home now, and get paid enough that it's in a big house and I get to drive to work in a Tesla.
I feel remarkably blessed to be in this field. Enough that I get a little paranoid that I'll be "found out" and then it'll all collapse beneath me when life catches up. Because so many of my friends are struggling. Getting horrible pay for work that I'd say is harder than what I do. A week of coding is easier than 8 hours behind a cash register or taking orders or making food.
I love my profession. But over the years the general customer has become less qualified, and more demanding in silly expectations/requests. I have requested that my boss avoids mentioning my participation in such constructions/designs - and as I am kind of one-man-department in our company I am reasonably happy. When I'm NOT happy, I add some sarcasm to my work: the customer will i. e. face details that contain ''13'' (the unlucky number) in dimensions, weights or quantities; or I create flights of stairs that are uncomfortable to walk. Doing so... I'll be happy again :=)

I absolutely love work I work for a company used to be a 8 to 5 but would cut back on hours because of covid-19 and I do side jobs real estate management companies in real estate people and then I do all the work that I need to do for myself and then I helped my friends sometimes I get burnt but it's like I can't stop and I need to LOL but since covid-19 I hadn't really taking a break and after about three weeks into the first lockdown I was pissed off because everybody else was locked down and I was still working and I took a few days off nephew more days I kind of started to like it but I can't seem to just completely slow down

I’ve had jobs I really enjoyed, but unfortunately they never paid all that well
